Limited-Depth Vaginoplasty
Reconstruction of the appearance of the female vulva, without creating a vaginal canal with full depth.
Unlike traditional zero-depth vaginoplasty, our center preserves approximately 3–5 cm of the vaginal vestibule and shallow vaginal space. While maintaining a natural female appearance, this also preserves the possibility of further vaginal reconstruction in the future.
This procedure is suitable for patients who do not require vaginal intercourse function, who wish to reduce surgical risks, or who have not yet determined whether they will need full vaginal depth in the future.
Reconstructable Items
- Clitoral reconstruction
- Labia minora reconstruction
- Labia majora contouring
- Vaginal vestibule reconstruction
- Creation of a shallow vaginal space, approximately 3–5 cm
- Feminizing urethral reconstruction
Natural Female Appearance
Complete reconstruction of important female vulvar structures, including the clitoris, labia minora, labia majora, and vaginal vestibule.
Reduced Surgical Risk
Avoids the extensive deep dissection required for full-depth vaginoplasty, reducing the risk of related complications.
No Need for Long-Term Dilation
Because full vaginal depth is not created, long-term postoperative vaginal dilation training is usually not required.
Preserves Future Reconstruction Options
A shallow vaginal space and reconstructive tissue are preserved. If there is a need to create a full-depth vagina in the future, they can serve as the basis for second-stage reconstruction, increasing surgical flexibility.
Suitable Candidates
- Those who do not require vaginal intercourse function
- Those who wish to reduce surgical risks
- Older patients or those with higher anesthesia risk
- Those with more internal medical conditions
- Those who have not yet determined whether they need full vaginal depth
Surgical Time and Recovery Period
- Surgical time: approximately 6–8 hours
- Hospital stay: approximately 5–7 days
- Recovery period: approximately 4–6 weeks
Features of Our Center
Our center adopts the concept of female vulvar aesthetic reconstruction, reconstructing important anatomical structures such as the clitoris, labia minora, labia majora, and vaginal vestibule. Through clitoral reconstruction with preservation of the neurovascular bundle, the surgery takes into account aesthetics, sensation, and recovery of sexual function.
Unlike traditional completely closed zero-depth vaginoplasty, our center preserves approximately 3–5 cm of vaginal space and the tissue conditions required for future reconstruction. This allows patients to reduce the surgical burden while still retaining the option to upgrade to full-depth vaginoplasty in the future.
Vulvar reconstruction is completed first, while preserving the possibility of creating a full-depth vagina in the future.
