Preoperative Preparation for Gender-Affirming Surgery (This page is not yet confirmed!!)
If you are taking any special medications (such as anticoagulants), please inform us during your consultation.
Transfeminine (MTF)
1 Requirements
- BMI 18-25
- Smoking cessation > 6 months
- No staying up late
- Regular exercise habit
2 Preoperative Examinations & Preparations
Before Admission
- Perineal laser hair removal (VIO)
- Urodynamic testing
- Colonoscopy (required for intestinal vaginoplasty)
- One month before surgery, please bring 2 valid psychiatric evaluation letters for surgery to your follow-up appointment, complete pre-admission procedures, and sign consent forms.
- Start a low-residue diet and stop taking anti-androgen medications 3 days before surgery.Note ‼️ Female hormones do not need to be stopped.
- Start a clear liquid diet (only water, sports drinks, and clear broth) one day before surgery.
After Admission
- Neurological examination
- Anesthesiology consultation
- Bowel Preparation:
- Oral laxatives at 5 PM and 9 PM
- Small volume enema at 9 PM and 5 AM on the day of surgery
Transmasculine (FTM)
